Evelyn is 21 years old. Before Hope Builders, she worked for the fast food industry as a graveyard shift lead. Evelyn had a rough childhood and little direction and regard for her future. Growing up in Anaheim she hung out with the wrong crowd, yet still wanted better for herself. She became pregnant but unfortunately miscarried a month later. Evelyn recalls, “This was the sign I needed to really get my life together so I applied to Hope Builders.
I fell in love with my classes and plan to continue my education while working as a medical assistant.” Evelyn also worked hard with her mentors to improve personally. “I was once so closed off. Now I’m much happier and have great interpersonal skills,” Evelyn shared. She is currently completing her 160-hour externship with St. Joseph Heritage.
